Zawaya was founded in March 2009 by Khaled Al Roudhan, Rana AlKhaled, Yarub Burhama, and Nouf AlRoudhan with the objective of creating campaigns, media content, and organizing events and workshops that raise awareness for, emphasize, and propagate human and civil values, more specifically, the values of tolerance and pluralism, respect for the other, respect for the law, respect for public goods, integrity and dedication at work, and the value of giving and volunteer work. Zawaya takes pride in having launched its first campaign right at the Company’s inception, Oqsim, and in quickly rallying the youth thereafter in its next two projects, which were the Oqsim training program and the campaign that was born out of the training program ‘Zawaya AlShaghaf..Ahyainaha’ (Corners of Passion..Brought to Life).
